I received my Conditional Job Offer in May, and I was wondering if someone could kindly let me know when I might expect to receive my class date.

I appreciate your time.

they typically don’t answer this question directly. Seen this happen in person. Overheard Aviate CA was thinking of going to another regional and applying off the street.

UAL recruiters told him we cannot make this decision for youn

I know someone who declined to participate in SkyWest’s pathway program to United when offered, He applied to United directly and got an Interview. Upon completion of the hiring review board he received a CJO and was placed in the SkyWest pathway program by United. Infer from that what you wish.

As a former Skywest guy who got out shortly before this whole pathway nonsense was instituted...I really feel for that guy. The whole thing makes zero sense to me.

hard to say. Most important thing to know about the CJO pool is that it IS NOT first in, first out. HR has some recipe they like for classes, a little sugar, a little spice, however many puppy dog tails. Also, the rate at which they produce CJOs and produce class slots is not always perfectly in sync.

The rumors around here are very few new hires over the summer and fall with substantial acceleration in the winter. If I had to bet you are probably looking at early 2026. But that’s 95% supposition, 5% information and 0% crystal ball. Maybe boeing gets max10 approval and things explode in September.

Any real (or fake) insights into hiring at the moment? Do you have to go to conferences?

Yes, for me it was definitely a conference. Also, lots of turbine PIC time, and training department/ leadership position.

retirements:
2025 - 475ish (many already have happened)
2026 - 550ish
2027 - 550ish
2028 - 700ish
2029 - 700ish

Current plan for Hiring
2025 - 1200 (many already have happened, but several hundred to go for the remainder of the year)
2026 - 2200-2400

So, things are going to get very busy over the Fall / Winter / Spring. Keep doing all the things that are always suggested for more "points" on the application (more time, more PIC, LCA, Leadership positions, etc, etc,) and know that the call is coming.

Figure with DL and AA hiring in pretty large numbers as well, things are going to be moving pretty fast again.

Delta isn't hiring what so ever right now and hasn't for good few months now ... and last I recall they won't until the fall/winter period. From what I've heard their "big hiring numbers" are behind them. Just AA and UA who have seats to fill.
