Am I competitive ?

True enough. If they are going to go through the time, effort, and expense to haul your @$$ to Denver to interview they are hoping to hire you. They can send you a TBNT email with a whole lot less effort and expense.

I will never understand these posts. Of course you're not competetive, because you haven't even filled out an app yet which is literally the bare minimum requirement! So right now, your chances of being hired are zero. If you want to have a career at a legacy and make tens of millions of dollars over the course of your career, then spend 3 hours filling out an application, and ideally spend $900 your app reviews and interview prep. If you don't don't get a call immediately, then continue periodically updating your app and continue checking boxes to be even more competetive, go to meet and greets, etc. If you do apply and get a call right away, it's probably a sign that you screwed up by not applying weeks or months ago. Every day that passes until you get hired means between 4 and 6 people getting hired before you, and yeah some of them will have fewer hours. Some will have more. Hours aren't the end all be all app metric, and rough stats that people post after a CJO or TBNT don't have nearly enough detail to figure out what the magic formula is and why they got hired or didn't. It sucks, it's a haze, but its literally the only way to get hired.

For reference, these are my stats. Very similiar background and I'm pretty sure we worked at the same two companies.
2900 TT
A320, 75/767 types
500 turbine
1200ish PIC @ 135 operation
4 year degree
0 checkride fails
Still waiting on United to get back to me. Only been about two months, but I'm still low on turbine. I've heard 750 turbine is the difference, but also know of people who have gotten CJOs with 500. Good luck!

Fill out the application. I got this advice a long time ago about being invited to an interview I felt I was under qualified for: If you get invited to an interview, know the company has deemed you worthy of hire. These days, they don’t have the time to bring you in just to tell you “no.” If you’re invited for an interview, you’re gonna have to give them a reason to not hire you.
To summarize? If you’re invited for an interview it means they want you to work for them.
Don’t worry about showing up just to be laughed outta the panel.

You and me both. Seems like there are more and more these days. I put my apps in to the big 3 back in '18 before I had the, at the time, magic 1000 121 pic - didn't even cross my mind to ask a bunch of random people if I was competitive; I was probably not competitive at all, but who cares? I got an app review, submitted my apps, and updated them after almost every trip.

2,000ish TT
1,300 multi
560 heavy turbo jet SIC 121
50 turbo prop PIC
700 HP twin prop PIC 135
4 year finance degree
4th pilot job
3 type ratings
2 busts
CFII
I also want to add that my dad has been w United for 35 years. He is a bit out of touch with hiring but claims that I'm "guaranteed an interview". I haven't submitted an App yet because I feel barely qualified. Do I seem competitive? I don't want to "burn" my interview by showing up under qualified. How much weight does being a family legacy carry? I also suck at interviewing so I definitely plan to get a prep course.

Honestly and please don't take it the wrong way....your most impressive stat is your father who has sweat, sacrificed, and went to work on holidays and weekends for 35 years for this company.

Not sure if this makes a difference, but I do have a bunch of Captain time in the CRJ as well as right seat A330 international time.

United just put the Max 10 on a shelf and it won’t take long for those 3,000 jobs to go on a shelf with it.
No one can tell if he’s rolling back his ambitions United next a bit and using Boeing as a scapegoat, or they really are squeezing his nuts that hard.

Yea, like right now as in today.

Overall weakness in the economy will have more effect on lost pilot jobs than UAL shuffling around orders and deliveries of different types of Max aircraft.
