If they try to assign a 1-day SC, make sure you PDR it..
Guarantee they’re assigning it to folks with an FDO on the back end.

I am sure and I still would PDR it and take it to grievance as it would be an illegal assignment in this case....

If we’re talking about late short calls on your last day, also keep in mind 20-K-6-h:

“If a Reserve is assigned a short call assignment that begins at 1400 or later on their last day of reserve, they must be explicitly notified at time of assignment that they will be completing their short call; if they are not so notified, they are not required to sit the short call assignment, and the assignment is considered to be ‘unused’.”

This right here as well.... Scheduling will not notify you correctly but will push back saying that this is an assumption that comes with the assignment. Had this happen me last year where I PDR'd it. SSC and the comapny battled all-day about it...

FDO can only be used to assign you a 2 day trip. So, last day, plus FDO. And then you’re entitled to the day extra pay, or restored day off.

For my specific situation, I had an HDO, not FDO. My SC was at noon and not after 1400. That said, idk I didn’t know about 20-K-3-c-(15) so always good to know!

Thats dumb…..

Yeah, did that to me a few weeks ago but started at 0900 until 1400. Last August is when they pull that last day SC after 1400 on me.

Yeah, originally told me to sit until 2359 on the last day, but luckily they released me just in time to catch my commute home. CS can’t stand to see a VEC guy get autoreleased on the last day 😂

VEC is awesome for making money, but otherwise, I don’t recommend it lol

Hopefully, you’ll have better luck in the future, man

Yeah, no. As a commuter, I wouldn’t bid VEC regardless for the amount of add pay that comes with it. Luckily I am a LCL for next month and my BES has ton of early show trips on Day 1 I can pick from for the add-pay if I so choose or use APU to position myself to be useless on my last day of reserve….

I didn't know this was a thing until 2 hours showed up on my pay register when I did an early LAX two-day a few weeks ago. Pretty nice that we still get it when we voluntarily pick up.
