I'm so happy I only have to commute until the end of this month.

I apologize. Just reread the policy. I thought there was a requirement for both flights to be an hour apart, and an hour before check in. Got my CBAs mixed up. Don't like the "Pilots are expected to exercise prudent judgment, including awareness of weather and other factors affecting travel, so as to allow adequate time for completion of all required activities associated with the schedule assignment or reserve duty" but nowhere near as bad as I thought. SORRY!

Not sure if they're being intentionally vague or just not good at communicating. CMP reserve seems ideal for someone that has a long commute (ex. living overseas) and doesn't have the seniority to bid a line to compress their schedule reliably. I'd like to know whay they perceive as the downside. Granted the tradeoff is unlimited short call conversions, assigned 30 hour rest blocks for legality, etc. as would be expected.

Chances are you’re there already if you can’t make it within 18 so SC isn’t bad since at least you’re getting hour add pay for each unused.

How often are SFO 787 FO’s on reserve getting called? How senior are the new LCL going?

Hi Tenacious & other UAL pilots,

Would you be able to point me to where in the CBA 2023 this CMP Reserve might be mentioned?

It sounds interesting and I'd like to read what the CBA says about it in detail.

Regards.

CMP schedule doesn’t guarantee a string of 12/13 days off for the pilot… what it does guarantee is ONE stretch of 18 days of reserve availability for the company. I agree with the idea that this schedule in theory could benefit an overseas commuter… but how it’s been assigned last two months doesn’t reflect a one string of days off like it has worked in GUM… all the pilots in my BES assigned CMP had their days off broken up into two segments… one of them 9 days and the other 3.

Isn't that something you could (theoretically) control with your PBS bid?
