IAD and EWR combined 320 is smaller than MCO 737.
IAD and EWR will likely cover ORD initially for the Atlantic flying.

Good point. Wonder if the XLR really is going to ORD first? Though I suppose with years of ORD construction ahead, more narrowbodies take up less linear gate space than 756s...

I'd figured the west coast 757 would be the first target for closing once the 321 picks up Hawaii flying, but I guess a separate issue since that only takes a Neo with ETOPS...

Interesting. Always thought that EWR 320 was about a bit bigger than MCO 737. The more you know

The company has stated the XLR will be flying out of EWR & IAD. West coast-Hawaii flying is quite into the future and TBD on timeline.

Yeah, several years ago we had approximately 250 Bus Captains in EWR. Now it’s down to between 90 & 100 last time I checked. I switched to the 737 last year since there was no short term plan to increase Bus flying in Newark. Though I despise the 737, I love my schedule. 👍

This is exactly right, about 100 Bus CAs in EWR currently. MCO 737 is roughly double that size.

Gotta hate the 3 year seat lock a bit though. Not my fav part of UPA.

I guess I missed the XLR commitment to EWR and IAD first... Especially as the Neo arrived in ORD so strong and the XLR can apparently do close-Europe from there...

But is the ETOPS training of west coast Airbus crews is for nothing? Or is this just being done fleet-wide? But again, separate issue. Only takes a Neo to go to Hawaii, not an XLR...

The 756 will have to be consolidated to fewer bases in coming years... just haven't heard any proposed progression. No 767 and limited 757 in those bases makes the west coast seem like the first target...
