because people from Asia go to San Francisco …..why don’t you move to a different base?

Also Why in the hell would people fly 14-15 hours 5 of which will be over the entire US from north to south to connect and fly several more hours back north? United would never sell that itinerary.

IAH worked for CO because it was the only option. There is a reason United is making a **** ton of money and IAH being under utilized isn’t dragging down profits. IAH has its place in the network but it will never be United’s mega hub that the entire world travels through.

There are more Asians in California than the population of 34 states. It probably makes far more sense for the flights to be where the demand is amongst the 1000s other reasons that network planning knows that we don’t.

IAH is too far from Asia and too far from Europe compared to LAX, SFO, ORD, EWR and IAD. Its closer to SA, but that's not nearly as large as Asia or Europe with travel demand and its not an optimal hub like DEN or ORD for connecting people domestically.

Once Antarctica is habitable IAH is going to be the best hub in the system.

It seems that as SFO is now “maxed out”, United would shift some of the flying to LAX. There’s a ton of actual space at LAX, but no available gates. There’s airport put the brakes on their future Terminal 0 and Terminal 9 plans until after the Olympics in 2028. I wonder if United is having a word with LAX about that.

Despite the new arrival restrictions, there are still a number of relatively quiet times at SFO (approx 11 am -- 3 pm and 6-8 pm, assuming good weather). I have to think that network planning is looking at how best to shift schedules around to spread the flights out more. And, can we change 3X daily RJ flights from an outstation to 2X Bus / Guppy flights? I dunno, but I have to think they're looking at that.

IAH serves its purpose as the gateway to South/ Latin America and the Caribbean destinations for south central US.
Also serves as the gateway / opportunity for some pilots in IAH to go see their hooker mistress who says she works in a call center and see their second family whom they support in above named places. 🤣🤣

SEA pax can sit around for a couple hours on the ground in SEA waiting for their ground delay in SFO to lift or fly to IAH and seamlessly connect to anywhere South and East.

The flying experience for pax out of EWR and SFO is miserable and it’s only going to get worse. There is no space for expansion over there while IAH is almost unlimited.

IAD is also a great place to connect for those on the east coast.
Then that OKC flyer can route through IAD if they are concerned about EWR….
