CAL MEC Update

...and another thing. He'll sign a contract on pay rates alone, leaving work rules behind every time. He'll never even wonder why he makes 15% less than his neighbor who flys somewhere else for the "same pay rate". When they finally do offer a contract that is just short of reasonable, He'll tell you, "Vote Yes! We'll make it up next time." He will allow his MEC to marginalize every perk and friction point of your contract with side letters and LOAs and never say a single word. He will have pay stolen from him at every turn and never file a single pay claim for his whole career, because he never reads the contract and really doesn't even understand how they steal from him.
Worst of all, he will make decisions for his entire crew using his philosophy without ever considering the input they try to give.
Once again, welcome to your new peer group.

and now one of the Houston reps is sending out his version of the "inverted pyramid"... This is very entertaining. Now I'm wishing I'd have just gotten a keg for the weekend...
"I did not understand the nature of our 3-way..." ????!!!! now that's good fuel for a stand up gig.
Can you beileve your dues money pays for this?!!!

I was on property in 2000. It's honestly ridiculous to say that a pilot contract was the causal factor leading to bankruptcy. Don't give yourself so much credit, IAH. Have you bothered to look at management compensation? Have you seen the mismanagement that was going on? Every pilot on the former UAL list (top to bottom) has taken a big hit....from the ESOP to the bankruptcy to multiple furloughs. It's not being "high and mighty", we're tired of getting screwed and want a contract that reflects our sacrifice.

After reading the bullish!t our ENTIRE MEC pulled this week, I expect to wave the white flag in this merger. UAL guys in the know must be p!ssing themselves while laughing at how the CAL MEC is as useless as t!ts on a bull. I am disgusted that I am a part of a pilot group that elected any of our t-bags to a union position.

Second, how dare you lay claim that your CAL MEC is more dysfunctional than ours. Fights and police from yesteryear, recalls, political infighting, and forum slander appear at times to be the rules of the road. Such a bargain brought to you for only 1.95 % of your pay.

"Wow, you were right. Maybe you're ALPA is worse than ours."
I'll be right back, gonna pop some popcorn.
