Keep in mind that there is no way they should be merged or integrated with seniority on our list with any seniority greater than that of our most junior furloughed pilot. That would be an insult to all of the 1437 that are currently furlouged to have a regional pilot, that our jobs were outsourced to, placed above a pilot on the current UniCon seniority list. That would be completely unacceptable.
Absolutely agree! They have enjoyed flying our routes while our pilots are out on the street.

They couldn't control some of the slanderous and out-right false postings of the more, er, radical elements who chose to highjack each and every thread for their own evil doings. I have another name for them; however, as this is a family oriented forum I'll withhold comment. The Forum was morphed into an SPSC only conduit and has proven to be useful even if not everyone gets to play.

on a different note, I'm a UAL furloughee going to a Skywest class soon. Lost my job recently....very junior on UAL furlough list. Any hint of what will happen to the 70-seat flying with the new CBA? Will United take it back and will I be furloughed from skywest? Then maybe recalled?
Any idea from anyone on what retirements and recalls will be like once we get a SLI?
Thanks for your information or opinion....

Pard, you'd be better off calling yer furlough dude at UAL (Todd Coomens? SP??) or the F/O rep of yer choice on the UAL MEC. It aint hard.

What council were you furloughed out of?

Default Scope

For those who have a better understanding of the scope rules maybe it can be better explained to me how this is legal. As of right now I can purchase a one-way ticket on "United" from CLT to LAS connecting in IAH operated by SkyWest CRJ7 on the first leg and Continental 737 on the second. I was trying to book travel through travelosity when I cam e across it!? Is the Continental flight just a codeshare with United? It sure does NOT seem to be the INTENT of the ruling!!!

Please forward that info to your local grievance guy or the MEC! Any data collected on the current shenanigans is good data.

Let's remember that most of those pilots got jobs in the first place because of our RJ giveaway and the post 9/11 sit down of the 727s and 737s. They should be given an interview (not preferentially) to fly for a major just like anyone else that's got competitive qualifications (military/corporate).

Boy, I have to say that watching these SLIs in the industry is making me so ****ed that our early founders did not have the foresight of a national seniority list. You have SWA guys wanting to staple Air Tran guys and republic regional guys trying to steal airbus seats from Frontier guys. How many pilots careers have to be screwed over time and time again for the stupidity of management?? Now let's see how our SLI goes..................... I would like to punch wolfe, goodwin, and tilton in the nuts right about now....oh, and whiteford and pierce too.

sorry, just venting...

Highly unlikely the AirTran guys/gals will be stapled. A Public Law was passed in 2007, Public Law 110-161 (during the Delta/Northwest merger), that states:

“insofar as the merger affects the seniority rights of the carriers’ employees, provisions shall be made for the integration of seniority lists in a fair and equitable manner, including, where applicable, agreement through collective bargaining between the carriers and representatives of the employees affected. In the event of failure to agree, the dispute may be submitted by either party for adjustment in accordance with section 13.”
