Does anyone have a link comparing the current UAL and CAL pilot contracts? We know the pay rates, I want to see comparisons of work rules, vacation and sick leave accrual and how it is paid out. Also want to see how the paid moves compare. It helps to do a apples to apples comparison.

They are playing the waiting game with UA pilots...wait long enough and they will accept anything. It is open for speculation how much of a role the UAL MEC chair sitting on the board has in this whole thing. A case could be made that he is acting in accord with his legal duties in doing what is best FOR THE COMPANY. Never forget that a Directorship is a Management Position...So, we have a Management person sittinig in charge of the MEC. A management person appointed by a small group of people-not voted on by the pilot group at large.
The proud tradition at UA is to mollify the widebody crews..."you will be senior some day", "would you rather have RJs or 747s?"...How many 747s did we get after ESOP? Look at the nature of the bankruptcy agreement...the narrowbody guys got the shaft again.
The Company is getting most of the benefits of the merger, takeover, whatever you want to call it. The pilot group is in a box thanks to the colmany's "good faith lawsuit" resulting in a multi-year "preliminary injunction." MEC?
The RJ issue is a foregone conclusion. In a recent issue of the ALPO magazine was a quote that we must also maks sure the Regional industry thrives. Why? Alpa has refused to defend scope clauses.
I say that the "theme from Shaft" should replace "Rahpsody in Blue"...because the Shaft is what UA pilots continue to get!

It is hard to compare... I've done it, but the trouble is in the scheduling section. Read the CAL section and it says "to be inserted at a later date." They got theirs about 3 months after they voted on their TA. They got handed some bullet points, and the bullet points all turned out to be lies. Then, their union negotiators jumped ship to management and took their notes with them. Then the CAL pilots got a "sweeeet" scheduling section that gutted their work rules and gave them PBS.
After getting PBS (which is an absence mangement system) they find out it is not built to honor seniority. They beta tested it with mock bids for 3 months and not a single absence was loaded into the system. No vacation, no training, no sick leave, no military leave.
It was the ultimate bait and switch with the NC leaving the team and then going to play for the other side.
But....I digress..........so sorry.
Anyway... UAL work rules exist to trigger protections due to management stupidty in unproductive flying. CAL work rules exist to squeeze every single drop of blood out of the pilot and his family and so that when he is dead there will be no public viewing, just a creamation because none of us new hire buddies will recognize him after cramming 50 years of flying into a 30 year career.
CAL should be called "slave ship airlines."

I actually know what I am talking about.
You might not like the truth sandwich on the JCBA stuff, but on Friday I have a six pack of your favorite beer that says I am right.
I will gift wrap it and FedEx it to you if I am wrong.
My bet....CAL MEC says "enough" and they go it alone.
I drink Shiner Bock or Abita Turbo Dog
