sorry, just venting...
Highly unlikely the AirTran guys/gals will be stapled. A Public Law was passed in 2007, Public Law 110-161 (during the Delta/Northwest merger), that states:

“insofar as the merger affects the seniority rights of the carriers’ employees, provisions shall be made for the integration of seniority lists in a fair and equitable manner, including, where applicable, agreement through collective bargaining between the carriers and representatives of the employees affected. In the event of failure to agree, the dispute may be submitted by either party for adjustment in accordance with section 13.”

Question Threads disappeared?

So, does anyone know where the OTHER two main threads in this CAL/UAL Merger sub-forum went? I clicked on the ink in one of the posts in this thread and it went nowhere. Sure enough, that thread has disappeared, as has another!

I was just beginning to enjoy watching other pilots come out of the woodwork to challenge Jockstrap 257, and was quite amused by his new defensive posture.

So, does this happen often? Where the most read and posted threads suddenly disappear? I'm new here, so I have no idea how things work on this Forum.

Thanks for any answers.

P.S. The threads were "Swin & Spin" and "UAL MEC Forum Closed" or something very close to that.

Didn't read them, other than the first few posts when the Forum issue occurred. Perhaps they got a little out of line even for this non ALPA sponsored board. If names were being thrown around and the like, I could see them being pulled.

Besides, do you really want a thread dedicated to you (Swin & Spin)?

Take care Neil,

Lee

Whether you agree or disagree with his position, he came here to defend himself after others made accusations against him.

If you re-visit the forum rules you'll see that we reserve the right to remove any post for any reason, although those simple rules guide moderator decision and action. Both threads in question were deleted after they degraded into personal attacks and flamebait, and showed no signs of returning to the thread topic.

Long-time users of the forum know that we'll provide the platform along with an extraordinarily wide latitude to express unpopular opinions. However, when the debate turns personal we'll pull the plug on a thread every time.

The best advice for a new user is to attack the argument, not the person. APC is definitely not the venue for UAL-MEC style threads.

Could have saved us ALL (especially me) quite a few posts if you had stepped in when it first started. Sorry, I felt the need to defend myself against the personal attacks. Next time, do I just drop you a note, or is there a link to report posts?

Not to worry, though, as the newbie from the UAL MEC Forum, I did not take it personally!

Thanks for resuming normal service.

Yes absolutely! If you find a post that looks like it's crossing the line with respect to the forum rules, just use the report bad post tool (exactly the same as on the UAL MEC forum). The report post icon looks like an upside down yield sign, and is located under the user name in the post. Clicking the icon and providing a bit of information will put the post into the moderation que.

What happens if every LCA decides to not do IOEs until the JCBA is hammered out. That will grind this place to a halt especially when our 65ers start golfing more. If the company thinks dragging their feet saves them money just wait till they see a bunch of 787s collecting dust in Victorville wih hefty lease payments.

For the record, I am not advocating this as I don't want to be in violation of the UAL/ALPA lawsuit. I'm just asking what happens if......?
