I disagree on the "gummers" comment. I've learned a lot, flying and otherwise, from the pilots I've flown with at UAL. There's always the 3% crowd, be it junior or senior.
When you talk about scabs, that is a whole different mindset all together.

My response was to 47dog. His statement was not correct, the furloughed UAL pilots flying at CAL are NOT considered "new hires". The simple fact is he's flying on the CAL side of the house. If he were a "new hire" he would have no heath insurance for 6 months, serve a 12 month probation and get paid $31.18 per hour (the UAL first year pay is $32.61) Hence my statement.
Your right, infighting does no good. Our common enemy is Jlo and his band of idiots.

In terms of your career earnings and when you'll be able to retire, they sure aren't doing you any favors.

While age 65 was no doubt a huge Christmas present for the guys who made the deadline, our current situation can hardly be blamed on them. I wonder how many guys hurling invective would have voluntarily quit at age 60 if they were in the same situation? My guess is very few.
As mentioned earlier, focus your attention and ire on El Hefe and the corporation which has amassed 9 Billion largely because of the pilots bankruptcy contract.
James is voting No.
