A deposition of Smisek/Tilton in the inevitable lawsuits will determine what transpired at the time. We'll find out then. As for future contracts and career expectations, the arbitrator knows full well that the overwhelming number of pilots on the United list will dictate the direction of all contracts going forward.
And it's 3 arbitrators, not one and 2 neutrals that have to come to a decision meaning things are probably going to be middle of the road and adhere to Policy. Probably won't see much that hasn't already been seen in previous awards except the inclusion of Longevity in no particular weight or order.

In the merger A Cal pilots gains some wb capt seat options while the UAL pilots gains a lot more nb capt pay. Lets et the experts figure out the value of each and let's see the analysis.

Good .. then demand all CAL pilots are fenced off from the wb's forever
. As a matter of fact, I'd be happy putting up fences on all the existing equipment, with only new orders unfenced. That seems fair to me, snapshot and all.

You're assuming the planes stay where they are currently at, I think in a year a lot of metal is going to be moved around and fences make the pilots go with them.

Not assuming anything .. but we have side numbers to account for each airplane. Pilots will move to where the flying is, or commute. From the latest CAL equipment bid, it's obvious that many senior pilots want to bid to Denver. Let them, just keep the equipment fences up. That seems totally fair, if you're talking "snapshot".

Really? Yeah, you tell a 747 guy he's gonna hafta commute from SFO to EWR, or a 777 guy from IAD to LAX for the rest of his career. The way things are being shuffled now you could end up having 6000 guys forced into commuting in a few years with hard fences.
CAL used to have a base in Den and most of those senior guys that bid it still live there.

No more burden than a Miami guy that is having to commute to IAD for the rest of his career cause the MIA base is gone, or a PDX guy, or an Anchorage guy. You either move or you commute, or you bid into the equipment you can hold at your domicile (oh, sorry, pilot base). About 50% of the pilots in sfo commute in. Welcome to the profession.
You're talking about pilot bases that were completely shuttered, different deal.
People move or commute for that, why force them out of a base because the company decided to move their aircraft somewhere else and they are now locked out of a similar type in their own domicile?

You may want to reconsider this position as I don't think it would be in your best interest long term.
