There is a way to fix all of those problems -- J.C.B.A. There's a train leaving the station and you have a reserved seat...will you be on it?

**caveat to my training pay -- it's 5hr/day since it was added after Apr schedules were posted...I'm returning from mil lv and gave them the required 2 weeks notice.**
Good for you............we DON'T get that, we get screwed, and since it's being implemented WITHOUT a sideletter/JCBA, we're getting the shaft again. You seem to think we can get a JCBA overnight, but it's not going to happen. Are you always such a douche? Just wondering because you sure come across as one.......................

Dude....got any ideas on what else we can do to pay the bills?
JCBA

I bet you knew I was gonna say that!

I'm in the same boat, but still in the reserves. I've been treading water for years and I'm tired of it. If our MECs get their acts together and start marching in unison, then we can end this decade long nightmare.

Look, I'm willing to ignore the SLI for now and focus on the JCBA -- let's let the merger committees and lawyers fight that battle, then live with the results. I just wish your MEC and MC would reciprocate. They should sign the MOU that separates the JCBA from the SLI!!!!!!

I'll make a deal. I'll stop responding with barbs since it's not really productive and is actually the polar opposite of what we need to be doing. I fully expect one more round of incoming from you about the last post where I called you a crybaby. My bad

Uh oh. You're about to get a PM from a mod saying not to call me a douche. Ask me how I know!

Maybe I come across as a douche because I just keep saying what you don't want to hear! You CAN get things from the company! There are a couple of you here that just seem resigned to the crappy circumstances that you're in now. That CAN change! I never expected, nor do I now expect, a JCBA overnight. The truth is that we can have a TA inside 1 month from today if mgmt wanted to make a deal. That was true 2 years ago btw. There is still plenty of fight to go, so lets keep our expectations high and our chins low. I have very high expectations or I'll be voting NO.

I don't point out what is in our CBA to taunt you, just to show what you can expect to see in the JCBA. Besides, otto blamed us for your contract;-) The beauty is that we BOTH have painful parts of the CBAs that will go away!

So I'm gonna peace out for a while since I don't think ****ing contests are very helpful. Fun, but not helpful. BTW, I know you really don't think I'm a douche

There is a fine line between crybaby, whining, and complaining.

I am cool with any of that stuff because someitmes I am guilty of all three. It matters not.

I am very down on this career and have been for some time.

This is coming from a person who has been involved in the process, done lots of committee work, and who has also done a little bit more.

I am really PO'd at ALPA though. I've paid over 50K in union dues and I can't believe what I am getting in the way of results. The money goes to ALPA National, not the MEC's......If the MEC wants to spend our money to represent us, they need to say mother may I and get the mother ship ALPA to bless it. The previous ROE on money, prior to 2005 is the way it needs to be, not the current cash hoarding we have at ALPA N.

You won't get any argument about ALPA Intl from me. I'm hoping for light at the end of the tunnel!

Hang on...........

We have work rules that favor high productivity with low pay. You have to fly the FAA maximum to make 1998 wages here.

If you combine that with another slamma-jamma that makes us work even more hours for no pay that sort of rubs your nose in it a bit. Really rubs salt in the wound.

If we just kept our 2 day sim event until the JCBA was done we'd be neutral on this added insult. It takes away family time, time to fly a good trip, and/or a combination. It's like being told to go out and pick another field of cotton for free.

Couldn't all this be a moot point anyway? Asking for a release and getting a release are two very very different things. I see regional airlines going 5 years before the NMB releases them. Maybe a major is "higher visibility"? Historically, how long has it taken majors to be released from the NMB?

Either way this is a great thing, it's a step in the right direction and a required step towards the ultimate goal.
