By this point a strike vote is just a formality for our group....After the last ten years who the hell needs formalities! Whom ever is not ready to walk by now never intended to walk in the first place.

A strike vote before release does absolutely nothing. Yes in 1985 we voted to strike months before the release (I don't remember the actual date and it did nothing to accelerate the contract or prevent a strike.
IAM typically would vote at the end of the cooling off period on the contract on the table. Their vote would also include a strike vote so that if the the contract failed it would immediately begin a strike.

I can only assume that Heppner is trying to see JP cards. Interesting tactic. I want this contract, that is industry leading, done now. However a single MEC putting out that message without the other at this point in time is not good. I don't care what you expect out of this. The only way to gain leverage is to unify the 2 sides. Time will tell what the heck this tactic is. It is obvious to me that we will NOT be released. This is not my wish, only my opinion.
