At the Chicago Family Awareness Event JP admitted that he is solely responsible for keeping the two MECs from holding joint meetings...How is that for unity...Maybe he is listening to the lawers...It has been known that Katz will fire shots in every direction and see where they land....Lets not fool ourselves this is all about SLI first for some...If so then why waste time negotiating a JCBA first?

The CAL MEC gave JP this direction, he does nothing on his own as it concerns having joint meetings.

You have not heard a response to Heppner from JP because the CAL MEC is meeting to give him the direction - just like its supposed to work.

Spot on Lee. The CAL pilot leadership is LASER FOCUSED on the SLI, and have admitted as much. We've been along for the ride and have been forced to continually 'compromise' in order to gain glimpses of unity. This has been clear for some time, but the recent PS and Paybanding discussions have really brought it to the forefront. I communicated to my LEC reps that they should stop viewing the CAL ALPA leadership through the prism of what they SHOULD be, but view them for what the ARE -- then plan our course based on REALITY. It appears that we are doing just that! We will NO LONGER be held hostage by the CAL ALPA leadership in their quest for SLI advantages! When I think objectively through this scenario, and it possible twists and turns, I see that it addresses most of my concerns. This will push all parties out of the equilibrium that we have been stuck in and IMO the message can resonate in the current political climate.

When are we flying together again?? I don't do ACC, so it'll have to be somewhere else

See I had a feeling he could not be trusted, he is walking around acting like he has them all in his pockect....Family Awareness used to be informational unity building events used during Sec 6, now it is no more than a management spying event. There is a reason why this guy looks more and more like Arnold Horschack in the back of the class room rising his hand to attend every single event.

You haven't demonstrated a lot of capacity to either think or be objective.

I have not flown Accra in a while...Got very sick on my last trip there.
Maybe we can fly Paris in June! I am afraid we are not going back to HNL unless we down bid to the Guppy! Are you back from Mil leave?

Let's get real...both sides are focused on what's best for their respective groups, Believe me UA is doing the same, as it should be. That's apart of the ugly process... We need to send a message to both our MECs, to not play politics or power plays with our careers and futures. Either we are in joint negotiations or not, so that requires joint communications and decisions germane to the joint negotiations. If the UA MEC, believes, they can push forward a release without CAL support, then so be it, and let the chips fall but at least both parties go through the process of sitting at the table and hashing it out BEFORE it hits the street. May not like the results, but at least the process worked..That's what We should demand in joint negotiations and from our respective MECs or else we've been wasting two years of negotiations and our futures...IF the CAL MEC does not agree with the UA MECs position, we have opened up the USAIR/AWA play book and the company will surely exploit...to OUR detriment.

So be it! Now let's see what JP does for you guys. This has been JP's plan all alond and your LEC's are following his direction and his direction is coming from the company.

Lee, I usually enjoy your posts both here and on the "other" forum as you tend to be pragmatic and level headed in your views on things. Let me ask you this though. Would you hang out with someone that is suing you, or would you wait until there is a resolution to that issue before engaging with them again?

Until BOTH grievances that the UA MEC has against the CAL MEC and UACH over profit sharing are resolved, I can't see how the MEC's can effectively work together.
