Thats pretty close, haha.

Very true!!

The poll, as of now, has been viewed about 6,000 times, with less than 200 votes. Even accounting for multiple views by the same person, it's obvious that, by far, most people aren't entering anything. Perhaps that will increase after the road shows start.

I am voting yes. There is not going to be any more money that comes into the contract. The only thing we can do is shift the money around. If we feel strongly about changing one section, we are going to need to give back in other sections.

We already know that we are not getting 100% retro, so delaying the contract any longer is only taking money out of our pockets.

Once the retro is payed out, all those "experienced" captains will finally start retiring, creating movement all throughout the seniority list. For those who will be able to upgrade to captain, that's another 60% pay raise on top of the big pay raise from the TA. Some people can see their wages double.

Oh hell. I can hear the floadgates opening after that one!

I'm ABSOULTELY SHOCKED* that iahflyer is voting YES!!!

*(that it took this long for him to crawl out and actually say it)

Nar for these "gives":

-LOA 25
-Banding
-Implementation timeline for the "gets"
-Doubly duty for Reserves
-moveable days off, period
-requesting permission from mother before fake/deviating end of pairing DH
-5 year deal puts us 2 behind DAL; more like 5 with this mgmt team
-Pay that doesn't eclipse DAL, no matter what ALPA says because they will already be into their next deal. See above.

and most of all..

The most disgusting grab... the highly unprobable A380 rate who's only purpose is to drive Moak's pay up.

I trust Jay Heppner, and if it wasn't for his bold manuevering, we'd still be hearing Jay Pierce updates about how rosy the the company and the Hours of Service SME were singing Kumbaya. As far as the whole Continental, "let's Easternize this" and "harvest" United's flights, I'm not worried about that. We, the legacy UAL, would rather destroy the airline than allow that scenario to take place. First word of L-UAL furlough and this place will burn to the ground. Summer 2000 will look tame in comparison. I'd rather burn this place down than let some scab mentality pilot profit on my demise.

Sorry bud, but as a 2 time furloughee, former UAL guy, current CAL guy....the "we'll burn it to the ground" diatribe-dog don't hunt with dumb guy anymore.

After witnessing the behavior on both sides of the TA debate, I'm certain the "rabble rousing"..."SCAB SCAB SCAB!"..."unified" UAL ALPA perceptions are simply a myth.

I AM ready to burn the place down...the CAL guys get it and don't want this turd foisted upon them by the U pilot group. The U guys, at least those I've spoken to since the TA announcement, have folded like a limp towel.

I'm voting "no" based on the weak language and merits of this agreement...as a former aerospace SME, with nearly 4 years of contractual requirements document drafting and reviewing exposure; manpower planning can drive a truck through the massive gaps contained in this 508 page agreement which our CAL planners will be more than happy to exploit.

"when you listen to fools, the MOB rules!"...

"we're number 2"...

cheers,
Horhay

"the CAL guys get it and don't want this turd foisted upon them by the U pilot group"

So far I am not impressed by any of this rhetoric from the CAL side at all.

The only "give" (when compared to the current CAL contract) I consistently read here are the changes in reserve. As far as the rest goes it appears to me this TA is more than just a minor improvement in the current CAL contract.

Now here are the "gives" I read:

1. My basic hourly pay is not as high as the DAL pilots.
2. I wanted more in the pay banding.
3. I wanted more "retro" pay.
4. Those UAL Airbus pilots got too much.
5. Movable days off? I wanted to get rid of that.
6. I don't get enough pay/longevity credit in the ISL (even though I never had any guarantee of any credit in the current contracts, UAL or CAL).
7. Those UAL pilots want my Captains position and seniority by agreeing to this TA.
8. And finally the winner, I think Moak get's paid too much!

Yes times are tough for the CAL pilots and this "turd" of a contract.

Is this contract the "best" and is there MORE money available? My guess is the answer is NO to both. Send it back and this blog will be writing the same things a year from now. This is like a dog chasing its tail, believing he will be able to bite it off and always out of his reach.

If this passes just think about all the ranting and accusations that will be flying during and after the ISL.

Horhay:

""when you listen to fools, the MOB rules!"..."

I am always amazed when these kind of statements fly. Had you agreed with the "mob" would you have then been a "fool?" Your statement is nonsensical and defeats your whole post.

I hate this contract, pay, retro, everything about it for the LUAL pilots. However, I think that any delay in passing will not get us any better deal, and may be an extended delay. UAL will shrink as CO grows. Where have we seen that before?

The money we lose in the mean time we will never get back.

We need to get on with the SLI and finish it so we can fix this turd.

Either all those nasty things you reference will happen with a NO vote, or Tilton told Smisek how easy it is to steal from the United pilots if UCH just floats the rumor that they'll pull a 2003/2004 lies, shock, and awe campaign on us again.

If this thing is such a turd, then why wait to fix it? *****

What it comes down to for me is whether I think all their scare tactics are fluff or fact. Right now, I think it's fluff.
