If this thing is such a turd, then why wait to fix it? Letting them shove this turd up our asses isn't going to scare them into fixing it on the next go-around.

What it comes down to for me is whether I think all their scare tactics are fluff or fact. Right now, I think it's fluff.

A week and half ago I thought it to be pure fluff too. Every day that goes by though, I absorb more and more details about the process that led us to this TA and I realize that it is an absolute fact that you and I (read UAL) need an ISL waaaaaaay more than the CAL side needs it. IMO this vote will be very close and the UAL guys who are on the fence will be the "swing states" so to speak.

Pay banding is a good thing. I can't believe how many people are so up in arms about this. Look at the top 3 paying flying jobs out there (FedEx, UPS, and Southwest), and tell me how many have pay banding.... All 3!

Pay Banding doesn't cost us anything. It gets us paid more for those on the smaller equipment in the band. It makes it so we are chasing QOL and not pay. I can't believe how many people miss that. And finally, it saves the company a lot of money in training costs which can then be used as a bargaining chip to give us more money in the contract. I would be so disappointed if my reps brought us a contract without pay banding. Fortunately they did. Good work!

IAH,

You mean to tell me that SWA pay bands all their various airframes into 737 pay. WOW what a shock!!
