The DAL/NWA merger they looked at the ratio of widebody to narrowbody for each airline, and did the list that way.
UAL has a higher percentage of widebody, and CAL is mostly guppys. So they will look at that and longevity and career expectations and current seat, etc and go from there.
We will all find out in June probably, but I'm not worried either way because I think reasonable people are going to be doing this and whatever they come up with will have so much scrutiny and analysis that it will be fine.

This is what was going on at the time of the merger. Notice how odd it is that the UAL 737 fleet disappeared right in the middle of the negotiation period about 6 months before the merger was announced.
Happily once the dust settles I think the rapid movement coming in the next few years will help ameliorate some of the pain of the SLI. . . just gotta find a way to have fun between now and then.

This could actually work out to be better for the UAL pilot group. We all of a sudden have more widebody aircraft by percentage.

Correlation does not equal causation. Tiger Woods also announced an indefinite leave from professional golf to focus on his marriage six months before the merger announcement but this isn't why UAL parked the 737s either.

haha. You are a funny guy. It's a good thing they don't look at what your airline did in the past. Because yours was a scabbed out, union totally broken, 2x bankrupt airline. I never even put in an application. Nowadays, I can't hardly fly out of Denver on one of your little guppies without having a scab captain fly me. Don't you worry bout the SLI. It is on it's way....now that we (UAL pilots) voted in this contract. Let's divvy up those new aircraft orders, shall we?
