Additional L-UAL pilot recalls
#11
The sUAL pilots that accepted the sCAL "job offer" were never formally recalled to sUAL as part of the "offer" nor were they required to even accept the offer itself. Every single sUAL pilot retains recall rights to sUAL, in seniority order, regardless of their sCAL status. Obviously the recalls have to start at the top of the list with the VFs.
You are correct, there will only be one seniority list at SLI.
BUT....last I heard (C12 meeting) if the SLI is complete this summer we are realistically looking at spring '14 for 100% combined ops. In the interim if a furloughed sUAL pilot absolutely desires a former sUAL domicile or fleet the one way to assure that is acceptance of a formal recall. This is particularly the case for VFs that automatically return to their prior base/fleet/seat and if that postition no longer exists --or if they can't hold it-- they have bumping rights.
In reference to the snapshot date, the formal merger was completed in 2010 and I am hard pressed to find a merger example that used a snapshot date later than the actual merger date.

Right right right. Understand. Missed the "recall" word in that post vs the "new hire" word. Easy to mix it up too when the new-hire CAL FO shows up wearing UAL wings--as if he's been recalled to UAL, thus the wings, but he hasn't been recalled to UAL, but he's wearing UAL wings, not the CAL wings of a new hire, which you would expect if he was a CAL new hire. Didn't say anything. What would be the point? It's been miserable for him and all the others the past 10 years and we may as well work together for safety and sanity's sake.

I wonder how much money they spent on the thought provoking design of our game changing WWll Army Air Corps wings? Probably about as much as AMR did on their Cubano, er Colgan, er American paint scheme.

So.......you are concerned that he's wearing sUAL wings sitting in a sCAL jet? According to your uniform police style side of the fom, you should have counseled him on the proper display of the uniform. Did you take that course of action or, did you feel the big picture response would be to shake his hand, have fun, and enjoy some good beers and conversation? For "safety and sanity's sake" of course. Right right right.
