Remember Scab Bid 85-5?

So, the company is in violation of the T&PA for flying ratios for the two separate operations and pilot groups? (Allegedly)
But the company is also in violation of the new UPA for filling of vacancies for the two separate operations and pilot groups because of System Bid 14-02? (Allegedly)
Just trying to keep all the violations straight: bidding, long-layover hotels, crew meals, flying ratios, vacancies in L-CAL operations....and on and on. Time for a mental health day so I don't become emotionally impacted.

Funny (not ha ha) to note that CAL ALPA grieved this very provision in the summer of 2011 as the ratios were not compliant then as a result of the parking of the 767-200's. Thought it was a slam dunk, but the arbitrator ruled for the company with a "force majeure" finding because they could not have known of the delay in 787 deliveries.
How many 757's have been parked on the UA side? I've heard the company is not going forward with that planned reduction until after ISL to prevent having to spool up a parallel independent 737 NG program for sUA.

Yet when I mention that CAL wasn't even on my radar and that there was no way I was interested in applying or working at CAL during that time I am accused of "trashing" CAL.
Strange.
I guess the whipper snappers have a different view of the world than those of us who were there participating in it.

You failed to mention that small tidbit in your lambasting of the average CAL Pilot hired during that time period. To branch out and say that the average pilot hired at CAL during that time frame was inferior to the average UAL hire would be a bit of a stretch don't you think?

As a participant I believe the time frame you spoke of was the early 90's. While I was hired 3 years prior to that at miserable ol' CAL, I do recall attempting to get a UAL job several years after being hired. During the process I found out that I didn't have the proper plumbing, (see cooter), and I didn't process a unique ethnicity.

I say, it doesn't matter which side is violated, it needs to be stopped. Enforce your contract.
One of the things still to be definitively decided is if and how much of the TPA is still in force before the SLI is complete. This and the % flying violations will be thoroughly discussed at our next meeting.

Yes, I am very emotional when it comes to being bent over and scr...ed by the company. Yes, the company took only 2 days to start violating the new contract.

No I have not and won't go again, but yes I have participated in the process and probably will until the twa process bankrupts the organization and we have a new process unless the organization passes on the settlement to it's members. Our you one of reps that voted yes on this pos? By the way I can only hope you drop your trips to discuss.

If you were indeed a white male hired during the previously mentioned period, hats off to you for getting on.
