Don't know what the cal guys were paying for these or what you got in terms of retirement contributions but I'm sure you were paying more and receiving less than UAL's. I don't think you can really claim superior pay for being a "second tier airline" just on hourly rate.
Factoring all pay and benefits UAL and CAL tracked remarkably close in the years leading up to the merger. From 2003 to 2009 the total cost of a pilot was more at CAL than at UAL in all but one year. In so far as total package of pay and benefits is a part career expectations CAL held a well-established and slight edge going into 2010.

No, my assumptions are the UAL proposed SLI does not support the group of 94' CAL furloughs that I was part of like it does the UAL furloughs!! I don't have hard #'s or facts and I promised I wouldn't spout them off here if I couldn't back it up!! But after looking at your list and trying to follow the UAL formula It looks like I lost ground during that time period! I have people hired after me ahead of me? Should it work like that if I received Longevity credit time. Not going to lose sleep over it though!! And I am glad I have your support!!

Chances are good that any time you lost as a result of being furloughed was due to the list that your MEC provided as been accurate. You may want to ask your MEC ok rep for not treating you and your group fairly.

I may be wrong but the Jumbo(747) first flight was two year after the GUPPY(737).
I just flew a "guppy" that was THREE WEEKS old. In other words, brand new.............and your "jumbo" is how old?

I would take a rope start 74 any day over a guppy. No matter how new the guppy is.

Make no mistake the 737-200(Guppy) bought my house and educated my kids. Whether new or not a Guppy is just a Guppy. With the extension of length and range they've taken a good regional airplane and turned it into a terrible medium range airplane. Enjoy it - you may be there a long time.

Ok folks the first 747-400 was delivered to Northwest in 1988, they were the launch customer.....UAL got there first one in 1989. Great airplane and far from the old whale from 1970. Classic -vs- Glass.

Would like to see us get the 747-800. Don't know why the CAL folks take jabs at the -400. It is not your grandpa's whale like PEX's old 747 rope starts.

Do you really think you are going to win this senority issue? So far what has alpa ual won? Contract? profit sharing? cal got some and was not even in there agreement, we got less than the year before and now we have lost the rest. Taking the soft approach with the senority. I know the fair approach, don't think that will work out so well either, be interesting to see how our mec does in the integration however.

Hope I am wrong but think you are not going to be so happy in the next couple months.
