I did notice that this most recent update email was the first one that I've seen where the projection actually improved (slightly) from the previous email.

Based on the March 12 update saying Oct 14-18 low SSN getting April-May class date (I took this to mean everyone later will go June and after), versus this update which says Oct 21 week low SSNs may go in May.

This could be due to pool attrition of course, but I am always looking for good news pool-related so I was happy to see that small change.

Yup...what's cheaper a guppy captain on 6 year pay or guppy captain on 12 year pay...it's cheaper to pay TDY expense than to displace.

Default medical policy question(for current employee)

When I went to the interview back in DEC, CV insisted that I get a new 1st class medical due to the company's non-discrimination policy (even though I'm under 40 and only need a 1st class once a year). I have been hired and am now in the pool.

In pool update emails, he's been encouraging us to keep our @#$t updated to include addresses, MEDICAL, phone, etc.

My question is will I need to get another 1st class when my 6 months is up, likely before my class date, or will I be safe holding it until its actual expiration in December (provided I class up by then)?

On a similar note, should we keep updating our flight times to show we are keeping current, etc.?

Thanks.

I'm updating my times monthly and date of availability weekly. I'm updating my times so that they know that I'm still current. As far as my medical, I got a current first class because you'll need that when you get called and also for training because you'll get typed in the airplane. I don't know why you would need a new first class, unless it lapsed into a second???

I have no idea why they'd require you to keep your medical every 6 months if you're under 40. I'd just keep it current.

That's what I figured. I think the issue during the interview had to do with the same redacting that you had to do to any birth dates, etc. which would identify you as any particular group for anti-discrimination purposes. Just wanted to make sure it wasn't something that would delay my class up any further than it already looks to be..Thanks!

So since we have a nice list of folks here now, where is everybody from? I live in Houston. I currently commute to CLE for Chautauqua on the 145...beginning in April my commute will switch to Columbus, OH. We are closing CLE. Another summer of commuting on weight restricted rj's for me.
