Since it looks like I'll be in the pool for quite some time, I may as well get on the list! Interviewed the week of Dec. 9th, low SSN.

Default July New Hire training???

Looking for someone that may be able to let us know why the discrepancy.

UAL's March 12 Pool Update email from CV-

"We were also advised to plan training over the summer months which we had not anticipated in the last update. "

From the ORD ALPA Scheduling Committee Report (4/3/14):
The Company had anticipated winding down training by June to have all pilots available to fly the line for the summer. Because of poor planning, that has been pushed to July.
So are they skipping July New Hire training or just equipment changes of current line pilots???

If they skip July would August be skipped to? I have heard CAL did not train in the summer but UAL did and there was training thru the summer last summer.

Anyone know the deal????

LUAL trained year round. LCAL trained 9 months and the instructors flew all summer.

The 737 fleet will not train this summer, as they will be flying. The LUAL training departments will train all summer, which is why the new hires will go to the 767 and Airbus.

Thanks you! That is good news for us new hires, we saw 11 in the 6 May class...hoping at least 11 going foward which means 22 per month which is the best we have seen in a long time.

Do not think 73 schoolhouse will be shut down this summer. Over Holidays some instructors went out and flew extra but summer will still probably be normal throughput. They didn't just put another sim in to just sit idle.

It won't shut down, just no new hires.

Most recent update still had CV's name on the bottom... Any idea if he's gone? Leaving? Staying (hopefully)?
