SLI Post Hearing Briefs

A 747 flying a mile from LAX-SYD has 4 pilots on board (i.e. 4 pilot jobs)
A 737 flying a mile from EWR-PIT has 2 pilots on board (i.e. 2 pilot jobs)
We will find out soon which proposal the arbitrators are going to go with and which one they will disregard.

ASMs unfortunately, are not pertinent. A 747 has ~400 seats per mile with 4 pilots. A 737 has around 160, which is less than half, with 2 pilots. Thus, per your example, the 737 provides more jobs.
Pilot block hours are the correct comparison... ASM has nothing to do with it. The 747 provides more pilot block hours, thus more jobs, but you just argued your way to the contrary.

I don't think they will disregard either proposal, but use parts of both, or use neither and come up with their own method (most likely).

Also, longevity is for pay/benefits whereas seniority is for bidding power. Take my case as an example. I am a vol furloughee with active pilots junior to me at UAL now. They have been accruing longevity while I have not. But, when I do return, I will be senior to them for bidding while they will be on a higher pay scale.

Your understanding of the math pertinent is pretty poor. Pilot block hours are what are pertinent.

"What's the Problem"
Reality for either side of this hot headed yet completely irrelevant debate on APC.
Yep neither side will EVER be the Yankees based what I watched amongst the geniuses on here the last 18 months...

DOH minus time away from mainline (ie, furlough or an Regional (ie Express))
