I really don't want to just come here and rant. So I apologize in advance:

Is it just me or has anyone else noticed the EXTREME level of unprofessionalism demonstrated by UAL customer service? I fly for United Express so maybe things are different between the express side and the mainline but I just keep wondering if anyone else is seeing this. Before someone tells me to go back to the regional pilot forum, I just gotta know if this is being addressed in any sort of fashion.

At first I thought this was just me and my luck but I've asked around and found that quite a few pilots at other express carriers have horror stories similar to mine. Methinks there are some deep underlying issues here.

Yes. One group followed merger policy and the other made up a policy that suited them and then was surprised when their conclusions were unanimously rejected.

If you can call that "contrasting methodologies".

So you agree with Staller on casting a wide net in stereotyping CAL guys as Jeff pseudo supporters? Congrats, you have no freaking clue. Hope you stay on The Whale a LONG time. Thankfully every UAL person I've flown has shown FAR more intellect then you demonstrate above.

I absolutely agree that the CALMEC and by default the CAL membership which endorsed the CAL proposal, which as it turns out was completely disregarded by the 3 members of the board as being ridiculous, has caused significant discourd between the two groups. They failed you and the entire pilot group. The CAl MEC fought for things that collectively hurt both pilot groups under the guise of effecting the SLI, then lost the SLI badly. The CALMEC hurt all of us collectively with no gain. Well played fellas. So, yeah, there is some divisiveness that will have to be worked through to become unified.

As to who posted that opinion, I have no idea who that is, who you are or who anyone else is on this forum because it is anonymous. I, choose to use my real name.

Only been on the whale for 4 months, and probably won't stay long. FWIW. But thanks for calling me an idiot rather than offering a differing opinion.

I haven't met a pilot supporter of JS ever. On the contrary, I think many an LCAL pilot tried to warn hopeful LUAL pilots that he was likely worse than what they'd had.

Same drivel since 2011. You want an opinion, get over it! You want unity? Stop agreeing with a flamer that claim many from former CAL inherently support our Horrid CEO. And every time you try to lump of 5500+ individuals into a neat divisive box, you will get a middle finger from me. Unity my bum...

Like I said, stay on the whale. That way you won't have to fly with greedy MEC cheerleading former CAL pilots for a few more years.

Sorry Staller, I'm afraid this is something you'll never be able to do!!
I think you wake up in the middle of the night with J Pierce sweats!! The SLI has been done now for a "LONG" time now and you are one of the only ones that keeps bringing up these names!! I think Jay got so far under your skin you'll never get rid of it!! Try to let it go, you'll feel so much better!!

Was that some attempt at humor? Wait, let me call the US Air pilots. They need a laugh.

Is that so? You're happy with this contract? At no point have I made this personal. You did that. I simply stated that the CALMEC's actions created a divide that didn't need to happen and benefited no one. That's a fact.

The CALMEC also negatively changed the UPA in many ways hoping to affect the SLI. That didn't work out either. So now, we pay the Airbus fleet differently based on about a 15K pound weight difference, yet we pay the 747/777 the same as a 767 with about a 400K pound weight difference. Makes absolutely zero sense. Garbage all the way around. But, yeah, definitely make it personal.

On me having issues with the average CAL guy? Absolutely not. I have many LCAL friends. I have never stated, nor will I, that I have an issue with the guys that have my back, as I have theirs. We had all better start working together pretty soon or thing is not going towork. A good first start would be to wear the pin, accept the SLI and realize that openers are coming quickly.
