Uhh ... no. It's a result of what L-UAL brought to the table. The fruits of the merger that so many of you were (and still are) hungry for wasn't to be had until there was a JCBA ... during the time from OMD to effective date of the JCBA, UCH managed TWO separate pilot groups under TWO separate contracts ... the CAL contract grew pilots jobs, while the UAL contract didn't ... even if UCH wanted to grow the UAL side, the L-UAL contract DIDN'T ALLOW IT ... you can thank the MP change for the delay extracting your windfall and having to sleep in the bed you made (err living with the contract you brought to the table) ... Now back to the regularly scheduled humptity bumpity programming.

Ual contract didn't allow growth? 737 flying in ORD, DEN, LAX was not allowed? C'mon man. The SFO MOU proved that growth could be shared. Where do you come up with this stuff? Now the Cap vacancies are being flooded with LUAL guys, and we are enjoying the reserve cushion the LCAL millennials are providing. Thank you.

Yes, the L-UAL contract wouldn't allow LUAL pilots to be trained by LCAL pilots. There are a host of other reasons why the LCAL side gained jobs and the LUAL side didn't, but in the end, it was what each side brought to the table that determined who did the flying ... and just because it was 737s flying routes that LUAL side had flown at some time didn't make it your flying or flying that you had a claim to ... not until JCBA ... when exactly did that SFO MOU come out ??? (Hint ... what was the effective date of the UPA?) ... all part of the design of the MP change. And please stop hating ... or retire.

Alot of these guys had their 4th stripe taken away a few years ago for pre-merger "rightsizing", so they know the drill. Some of these guys were Captains from 1999-2010, or many of those years.
