Quote: One didn't need to have been an employee for the entire 2014 calendar year to receive even a prorated share, do they?

Wife was a returning furloughee in Feb 2014. Would kinda like to get a little piece of the pie...
Have to have been here the entire year.

Could you point me to where anything says that? I've read all the profit stuff in the contract and there's nothing I've found that discusses eligibility to receive any piece of the sharing requires the full year of service. I actually haven't found anything that spells out eligibility at all.

I can't point you to it because I'm not sure where it exists. I am a May 2013 hire and asked the CPO for help last year. They didn't know either. All I know is I did not receive profit sharing for 2013 and neither did any of my new hire friends.

The contract only references new hires in regards to profit sharing and being around for full year. I thought this got worked out for the returning furloughs. I'm almost positive the one year didn't apply to them.

I just heard back from my classmate who went thru this when he returned. He got pro-rated for the year because he has more than one year of cumulative active service.

HA! Nice.

But seriously, we've leaving on vacation Saturday and I'd kinda like to know if I can only spring for the $10 White Zinfandel or the $100 Cab.

You won't find it in the contract as the document is on FlyingTogther (hint: search for profit sharing) and applies to all employees.

Home > Employee Services / HR > Rewards & Recognition > Profit Sharing Q&A

"To be qualified to participate in the Profit Sharing Plan, an employee must have at least one full year of service by the end of the applicable calendar year."

You got profit sharing right?

So you get the cab and she gets the Zin.

Unless you want the GEWÜRZTRAMINER later....

I assumed the pilots might have had a different agreement than everyone else.

Found the doc. Yes, one year of total service is required but that's not an issue for her as she was a 98 hire.

And there is an example of a person get promoted out of a management job that eligible to one that's not, and that person would be prorated for the time they held the eligible position. There's also furlough language (getting furloughed during the year) and the share is prorated.

So I'm going to assume that the missus will get 11/12s or so of the share. Bring on the Cab!

Well there you go. Furlough returnees are (as they should be) eligible. New hires are not.
