April 7th Class
#18
Interview 13 Feb. They called today and said the class had been bumped up to 23, with only 737 EWR and 320 IAH slots available. Asked about 75/76 and was told not to expect any more this month.

Baby talk? I suppose no pilot ever nicknamed an airplane. Ever heard of the Enola Gay, or Memphis Belle? What about the Hornet, Falcon, Buff, Corsair, or Hercules (aka the Herc). Ever heard of a Seminole or Twin Otter? I'm guessing those are nicknames too. I'll bet you've used that "baby talk" in the past.
Its aviation tradition and history to use nicknames. I've noticed I've never heard anybody complain that United painted "Dreamliner" on the side of the 787 and I've heard LCAL guys call it just that.
Aircraft Nicknames
Here are a few choices for the Boeing Seven Thirty Seven. You let us know which one you'd like to use?
Boeing 737: Tin mouse, Maggot, Pocket Rocket Socket, FLUF (Fat Little Ugly ********er), Light Twin, Baby Boeing, Fat Freddy, Guppy, Thunder Guppy (series 1/200), Yuppy Guppy, Super Guppy (series 3/4/500), Pig, Bobby (BOeing BaBY), Rudder Rotor, Fat Albert, Dung Beatle.
I'm betting anybody who ever would say that its "baby talk" to only refer to the actual letter and number designation only has also referred to airplanes by their nicknames in the past.
Its also part of United's history to refer to it as the Guppy.
Ah the hypocrisy.....
