Any latest on how many have been hired this year and expected hiring numbers coming up? i.e. is it still a good time to get hired at United? Would an applicant today make widebody Captain before the end of their career still?

All subject to change in a moments notice, obviously.
Considering that UAL has been hiring lots of 40+ folks (mil retirees & senior RJ guys) there will be "new hires" retiring with less than 20 years of service so a <=30 year old has a pretty open field.

Thoughts on leaving a "Seattle based airline" for United with the intention to live in Seattle the rest of your career? How is the commute to SFO these days given the SEA base closure? Pilot in question would have 38 years left to fly.

Had a jumpseater awhile back pdx-sfo who lived near Seattle. Said it was sometimes pretty tight.

Anyone bring printed electronic logs to the interview? The welcome letter they sent sounded pretty serious about logbooks. Said electronic was ok as long as you brought originals of any time converted to electronic. Most of mine is, just curious how it went over for others if it is well presented.
