Quite the opposite. I believe in solidarity, and that we all should work for the greater good, and placing ones own self after that. It just shocks me every time I come across union pilots that only look out for themselves. The "I got mine, do not ask me to help you" mentality that goes against the entire spirit of unity.

No big deal, right? You have done the right thing and pumped up that B-fund over many years. That is the smart thing to do in a world of no A-funds. Well, don't plan on "small" taxes on your withdrawls from your B-Fund during retirement. Other folks will need that money too.
All for the greater good, of course. There are 35 year old losers sitting on their mom's couch playing Xbox right now that will thank you. Actually, no they won't, because they will feel entitled to your money. Folks like Obama will make sure of it so they vote for them.

Last time I checked the entire country is not "union". Are you also advocating all ALPA carriers have the same insurance...if so I would love to see you write a check to a regional pilot to help them with their insurance costs.
Your fascist view is quite disturbing.

Would you care to expand on the drug stuff. Is he having problems with approval or trying to get the doctors to opt for a drug that they feel is better because it's cheaper.
Some of the maintenance drugs can be expensive and Express Scripts does a good job of approval and not trying to overrule the doctors. This could be a problem for many that have a family member that needs expensive maintenance drugs.

For us, the nearest CVS is 25 miles away.
As for Aetna, depending on the state, you might be able to keep it. According to the map on the company web site, your state of residence will decide which carrier you use- no choice either Aetna or BCBS.
Hopefully, I am wrong about this but the map seemed pretty clear.

Medicare Advantage, Medicare Advantage Plans - Aetna Medicare
You can keep AETNA. You would have thought deregulation would have had a greater impact on insurance coverage and cost, but being retired - you have choices !!!

Aetna has always been available privately, but is a substantial cost increase out of the United group options...very close to 35%...a very costly "choice."

He has told me that in general, they are difficult to deal with compared to Express Scripts, and his mail order meds sometimes arrive late- which never happened before.
