Guys, remember something. The company already has relief for the FRMS "problem" available in the current upa. They just decided, unilaterally of course, to stop paying us to extend the duty day! Same goes for the 100 seaters. They can add them anytime they want! No need to amend/extend anything, maybe try following the contract they have in place! So that's 2 of the 5 right there... What do they really want?

Being that Oscar and the MC had a better relationship on the BOD I am sure this came down from the top. In other news he has just volunteered to give the SCAL FAs profit sharing for 2015. The real barometer will if the mechanics close out a deal when they meet again.

Our negotiated share gets diluted every time UCH hires a new employee or increases the pool of participants. This is nothing new and has always been the case. Do you tell a half winger he is taking your profit sharing when you see him? Any work group who's wages rise disproportionately to the other work groups also affects the payout.

After all this is called "sharing". If this move helps AFA get on the same page so they can get to a contract, good for them. I guess all the bravado of wanting to have the entire company pulling on the same rope was really a hollow gesture.

The profit share progam is pre diluted anyway. It isn't equally divided among participating groups. The share is derived by taking the monies and dividing among each non excluded management group. Each emploee group covered by collective barganing agreements not included in ps will have thier share set aside, and it will be given back to the company. In other words if it isnt in your contract the company uses it to pay your salary.

The fa ps inclusion is very reminiscent of another group that had profit sharing given to them. The bottom of the announcement says lua fa's are seeking to resolve some disagreements to the fa benefit. Is this to stop a lawsuit or grevance?

Unfortunately, we had to reschedule the labor summit today. The primary purpose of the summit was to engage our labor leaders in an open, face-to-face dialogue. With President and CEO Oscar Munoz unable to attend, we decided to reschedule as soon as possible.

This dialogue is extremely important to the company and Oscar as we continue to move forward in our discussions with all of our employee groups to make United the best airline for our employees and customers.

Very similar to being put on hold with the recording "your call is very important to us." Really? If it was was important to you I'd be talking to someone already.

That's the same line of B.S. that the LCAL side gave when they were given profit sharing without negotiating it.

We grieved it and won…so no, it's not "pre diluted".

And no, they should not get profit sharing if it's not in their contract.

We can't just have special groups given more than what they negotiated while leaving out the other "co-workers".
