I agree the pay system is broke. In UNIMATIC we'd go to our CALREC and page two had a trial of any and everything that was ever done to your schedule so you had a constant visible paper trail. Transition to CCS and it's almost impossible to track. It shouldn't be this difficult.

Seeing the 50% of flight time plus DH time included in your add pay is correct.

Also, do you have a screen shot of your master schedule showing you VHDOs?
Yeah, I have a screen shot of everything. I am ROYALLY PO!

Scheduling playing big games right now......Don't take the bait. DOn't be fooled. AFter you take the trip....beware.....they may go back into your schedule and restore the days off you think you are selling and behind you back do something that you never even discussed. CPO says they have "discretion." I say BS. I will NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER never do this again. scheduling is totally wrong in playing games with your schedule behind your back.

crew scheduling is taking a new direction.

It's called "mis-direction."

I wouldn't trust them if they call you to ask you to work on your HDO's.

beware.....They will lie to you!

Look at it this way. Lesson learned and bridge is burned.

Rule 1 Never answer phone from scheduling. Let them leave a message first. Then call back if you must.

Rule 2 never trust scheduling

Baseball...don't take this the wrong way. But if you don't know the rules like the back of your hand, you will be taken advantage of by CS. There are multiple threads on this subject here and on UALforum. Lesson learned.

Not that you'll ever do the VDO thing again, but for those that do... The Add Pay should be in your PAYREC right after the trip is assigned. I always screen shot my PAYREC after being assigned or trading trips. If the add pay isn't there, I would call back and have them put it in or I don't head to the airport.

well, I am going to file a grievance. What reserve in their right mind would go to work for free?

Also, very disappointed in the IAH CPO.

I think I will go out of my way to advertise this to the pilot group and I am asking ALPA to put out a special memo to pilots warning of the gamesmanship going on in scheduling.

Day off restoration is the norm when dealing in VDOs. Buying your day off is an exception. If they told you that on the recorded line, then have them pull the tapes.

Default VDO..

Have done a couple of them over the last 3 months.

Never been a problem. The added 50% has always been reflected in add pay and a later LSR has been converted to a RDO.

I got the new 14 page pdf document from ALPA yesterday that explains all of the various irregularities in our pay. VDO is one of the things that is explained.

I am sure Chewbacca used a flow chart just like this to trouble shoot the hyper drive of the Millennium Falcon. But, a handy document indeed to download onto the Ipad.
