Kakkies and a dress shirt were the norm in indoc. I didn't see jeans start to appear until sim training.

Thanks for the information everyone - looks like we will have some interesting choices to make. I plan on relocating to the NY/NJ area so I guess I'll be bidding EWR...in whatever I can hold....!

If there are any folks of British descent in your class, use caution....they tend to drink all the beer!

Welcome aboard everyone, you will enjoy class and the job!

March training forecast is for 75 new hires. 36 A320 and 39 B737. Latest vacancy had unfilled vacancies - (from most vacancies to least)
737 SFO, LAX, EWR, ORD & DCA.
A320 SFO, DCA & EWR.

Latest update indicated newhire 756 positions could start up again in June. Current unfilled 756 vacancies are in EWR & SFO.

Choose wisely and welcome aboard.

4 756 positions offered to my newhire class on March 15th however I assume there are perhaps 4 or more recalls?

Most likely recall guys. Today's plan isn't always tomorrow's plan around here. Get used to that.

The information I read said that no newhire 756 positions until all 76T pilots are converted to 756. The last base converted from 76T to 756 is scheduled for May. All summer flying will be done by the 756
fleet (76T category will no longer exist).

On the 320 locations - I doubt there will be any EWR 320s (currently shrinking the 320 flying there); not sure that there will be any DCA 320s either from looking at 1605V.

The biggest trend that I'm seeing is that LAX and especially SFO are going very junior. Newhires can expect the bulk of initial assignments to be west coast 737s although there should be a reasonable number of EWR 737s. Not to worry, you should be able to lateral eastward fairly quickly.
Bottom line: if you're young (class picks are based on age), expect a SFO 737 or 320.
