p.s. Have any of you gotten even a breakdown of equipment slots? Full info package from yesterday had nothing and the original email just listed 737 & 320 without numbers...

Congrats on the job, as far as anything but the Bus or Guppy I'd say extremely unlikely. I don't recall any unfilled vacancies on them. The company can only put new hires in seats that current pilots have passed on.

EWR 756 had 35 or so unfilled vacancies on the last bid. It's likely there will be a few slots in each class for a couple months.

Wow I somehow missed that. Guess 756 EWR flying is just that bad? I get that the 757-200 pays the same as the guppy but surprised that I missed it.

There is going to be a new vacancy bid open on Monday (per the Upfront news) that will include "mainly A320 Capts and FO slots on the 737, A320, and 756."...I would imagine any unfilled vacancies and open slots from movement on this bid will be what the March 8 class will get. Just a guess, but as stated above there were plenty of unfilled vacancies in all categories so you guys/gals should have some great choices! Welcome aboard!

It's not the flying that's bad... Ewr 756 is great flying, just most people want to be based elsewhere... In the not too distant past there's been unfilled IAD as well.

Agreed, the flying on the 756 is great. I love the variety. Hawaii one week, Europe the next! Lots of easy domestic trans cons if that's your thing. I won't get into global reserve rules, but I suspect that's the reason it's going so junior. Expect a long time on reserve though. I'm over a year on property on the EWR 756 and still below the g line. With the closing of the 76t I keep moving further and further from a line. If you live close enough to sit short call at home, your QOL on reserve increases significantly.
Anyway, welcome aboard! This is a great company to make a career at and at a fantastic time! Lots of quick seniority coming your way!

8 March as well & can't wait. USAF guy, 41 years 8 mos. Leaning toward 737, but am beyond excited to get going & meet everyone.

Quick (possibly dumb) question-attire for Basic Indoc? Letter mentioned business casual, but thought I'd read elsewhere it's mostly jeans. Any suggestions/unwritten gouge?
