Man, not me. I really appreciate a little positivity from the new folks I'm flying with. Nice to have some fresh air after breathing a room full of farts for the last 16 or so years. The guys/gals who are happy to be at United, cheerful about their job, eager to learn, and pleasant to talk to are the ones I most enjoy sharing an ID with. I certainly expect them to learn and defend our contract, but we as a collective company are better with people that want to do a good job.
The people you choose to denigrate want to do a good job but were smothered by circumstances beyond their control. I consider the fact that we did not endure a hull loss during these times as a testament to the skill and professionalism of the aviators you choose to disparage. |
SpecialTracking,
After reading just a handful of your posts over the last month or so, I note that you have a propensity to overreact to posts you disagree with. As when something is pretty minor, and yet it is "unbelievable". The post above is another good example. |

Its not rose colored glasses. It really is better on a life-altering scale than where many of us have been. You just don't realize it, because you haven't been trying to keep your nose above the surface of a river of fecal material for the last fifteen years. As bad as it was, and I understand it was quite bad, it was better than the best non-major gig.
fair point. don't get me wrong, fellow bored on sofa forum surfers. I too generally enjoy the positive attitude of the new hires to the sad demeanors of the 16 yr fo's. but, the 16 yr fo's "got it". we actually don't need to yap endlessly about how much we love our job for three straight 11 hr days. it's fine to read (fom not kindle of course). it's fine to talk about sports, travel, home projects. and sometimes silence is fine too. so, yea, sometimes i miss the seasoned fo's who could just do their job well without yapping about how great a job it is. |

Three simple tenants in my posts do not constitute an overreaction to a continual denigration of the pilots who always seem to be someone's whipping boy. |
Haha... OK, SpTr.
