We know the president elect ran on American protectionism and keeping good paying jobs stateside. Giving carte blanche to cabotage would seem to contradict that narrative. I guess time will tell if he will make America great again.
What we do know is how the outgoing administration has ruled.

Trump's narrative will be how good this is for US manufacturing jobs since he said the US doesn't make anything anymore. These jobs are more tangible and understood by the American voting and consumer public than the number of airline industry "service" jobs. I hold out no hope that Trump will do anything to change course on this decision.
Just my take.

Duarte quoted him as saying PI's extra-judicail killings were the "right way" to deal with drug abuse. Pakistan's PM related Trump's man-crush for him and all the "amazing" Paki's (mother of all flops?). And today, the amazing tact with Taiwan and the Chinese.
NAI is going to be SO far down the damage control list for his admin that I don't think we'll even hear it discussed.

You're too kind, my money is on him being the first president to inherit a global US diplomatic meltdown....caused by his post election rookie missteps. It's like watching a monkey f*&##ing a football in a room full of nitro glycerin.

I actually think we need to put China on the defensive for a change... they currently are not afraid of the US... and they will continue to **** in our faces like they have in the South China Sea. I'd like to see Trump open up diplomatic ties with the Taiwan government and use it as a tool to get the Chinese military out of the South China Sea... I bet if we decided to rebuild a military base in Taiwan it would open their eyes.
