No big news. The ANC MD pilots have known this was coming for months. Supposedly the sim will be moved this summer also.
Almost all of the captains are going to stay in ANC on the 74. The majority of FOs will too. The story is the MD will be out of there by fall, so the debate was if everyone will get DH front and back lines, TDY or what since whale training is so backed up.

With the SDF sim running (albeit a handful of programming bugs) the backlog is diminishing. There are still issues with instructor availability and continuity which still plagues the training program. Additional training in the form of warm ups and extra training to achieve standard have been a factor as well. Is this programs running great, No, but it is doing better.

Shortly thereafter things tend to return back to ‘normal’. Basically, people who’re thinking about retiring early, but are within the realm of the next contract, tend to hang out as long as they can hoping a new contract will be signed before their retirement deadline.
So the current ‘average’ retirement age will probably creep up toward 65. You never know but I think it’s a realistic assumption.

That's pretty much me. Not so much that I'm waiting on a new contract, at 60 years young I think they the clock will run out but who knows. The company sure doesn't seem to be in any mood to beef up the a plan though.
The creep to 65 won't really matter as our huge 1989/90 age 65 wave hits. Take a look at those numbers versus today's. No more creeping, I don't think Hodar will be able to stop that inevitable mandatory stampede.

CBA 2016 improved the defined benefit by 33%+...
Seems like 63 was the median retirement age the last couple years under the 2006 contract, and that doesn’t seem to have changed much the last couple years looking at annual attrition vs. mandatory retirements.
