Narrow-body Captain at Delta is a lot more work for about the same pay as UPS FO or Wide-body FO at FedEx.

If UPS cares about getting the best candidates they should really consider changing first year pay. I’m guessing they don’t care but I’m sure some people don’t even apply to them because of it.

You definitely have to have a long term view to come here. Yes, the first year sucks, but the payoff in year 2 and beyond makes it worth it to those that choose to apply here.

year two pay at both (since the most jr captain awarded at DL likely won't see Captain pay until he's closer to the one year mark):

$240 for DL A220 captain at 65hrs min guarantee = $15,600
$192 FO at UPS at 81hrs min guarantee = $15,552

The difference is literally $48, and the UPS pilot gets a much better retirement package.

It's actually $199.96. $205 come September.
