The forum video is informative, but shouldn't be used as the sole determining factor. Read the recommendation letters in the Flight Times (difficult to locate, I know) and see their interactions on the B&G. If you weren't here during the upheaval of the 2006 negotiations you may not value a cohesive EB, but I sure do. One candidate would jeopardize the current harmony and two would not. Of those two, only Derek has the experience to begin day one where Paul leaves it. A decade in working grievance is not remotely equivalent to the other two candidates experience. He is remarkably well qualified for the job. Choose wisely.

To those who have not made up their minds, you may ponder that all but one former EB member, that are still employed here, have endorsed Derek. As has the grievance chair.
While I agree there are times that experience impedes progress, there are times when experience is valuable. Like when your life or career prospects rely on that experience. I have no reason to believe that Kevin isn't very sharp and capable, and I appreciate him throwing his hat in the ring. I hope he stays involved, regardless of the outcome.

The company doesn't have feelings about you or anything else, but the people who run the company view you as a cost center.
