And I could run for President without any fundraisers.

If there is one certainty on these forums. People spew negative made up statistics. And then BoilerUp responds quickly with factual information. It is quite entertaining.

This might sound extremely selfish but.
the chief pilot recommendations form has a “not recommend” portion.
there was a pilot at brand X that did this to me at another airline. This said pilot is from what I understand applying at UPS.
how bad is it to unrecommend a pilot?
I hoping such pilot will get denied by its own merit but you never know.
thoughts?

If someone asks me to submit a recommendation on their behalf, I usually do, but I always do it honestly. We don't have a lot of pilots here, so I would like to reduce the chances of flying with a turd as much as possible. That being said, it would take a lot for me to submit a recommendation (especially a "do not" recommendation) for someone who did not ask me for one...probably a major integrity lapse or something along those lines. Still, I've thankfully never even considered it. On a side note, the most mediocre recommendation I have ever submitted still got hired - then bailed in the first couple of months for their "dream" airline. I guess the moral is if you honestly believe someone should not be hired, don't try and be subtle about it.

as I said this particular pilot did this to me at brand X. I got the job regardless. Their union contacted me to tell me of what this pilot tried to do.
now that I am here I want to return the favor. This person is a total turd. We would benefit not having such A hole.
I never ever thought anyone would do this. But this person did this and maybe karma should pay them a visit.
i very hesitant…. Im not that type of person but I’d hate for our group to have to deal with the likes of them.
I might just let the system work, but hope, they don’t slip through the cracks.

If they’re truly a turd, they’ll almost certainly slip through the cracks and get a JO. I personally know of one that we laughed when we heard he got an interview invite and were horrified to learn he got the job. The interviewers loved him.

I un-recommended a pilot a few years ago after a series of events. First he fu#@ed big time on an Air Force mission. Second, I did him a huge favor recommending him, even though I barely knew the kid, but he was in my old squadron so I did him a favor. But then he takes another job at American right before COVID hits, but never told me. Then he calls me back to ask me to check on his app, but never informed me he was already at American Airlines. Last, I showed up at the base for a friends retirement ceremony. Everyone is having fun, for a few hours, except this one guy,who I didn't recognize, sitting in the corner just looking around. I walked up to him to introduce myself, as I knew everyone there except him. He tells me his name and I asked him, "Aren't you the guy I rec'ed for UPS?" He said "Yes". I'm like why didn't you come over and introduce yourself to me and maybe say "Thank You?"
Just a slimy dude. So I called HR and told them I wanted my rec pulled.
