I would think that the HR folks are smarter than to think that even three pilots represent an entire group of thousands.

I didn't know UPS hired thousands of 91 pilots.

With such a small sample size HR has for 91 pilots, I think the percentages could make them think twice.

I'm not going to look back the last year, but say UPS has hired 15 and 3 have gone back. 20% will definitely get their attention.

There's generally 5-6 Part 91/135 guys per class of 20-24. With three classes last year and three this year (that are beyond indoc), that's probably 30ish that have been hired. If 3 have left for their previous jobs, it's 10%. Not a huge number but definitely more than we would like to see, being a former corporate guy. Put in the effort and you'll do fine. This ain't FSI or CAE anymore fellas.

Since I'm in the middle of a long layover, I went back to the beginning of 2016 new hire classes.

Part 135/91k- 12
Part 91 - 16

28 out of 149 hired
The 135/91k guys haven't gone back (I'm sure seniority has a lot to do with it), so if you take the 3 pure 91 guys, its 18.75%.

Thanks for the research- I'm off work for awhile so I sure wasn't gonna do it. 😆

That percentage is way too high and it's unfortunate. Like I said before, put in the effort and you'll get through the program. It ain't rocket surgery.

Were there training issues with the 91 guys, or did they mostly choose to go back for other reasons (QOL, significant buyback, etc.)?

Both issues have occurred.

What are the quals of the part 91 / 135 folks getting hired? Flight time?

Received an email from the recruiter I spoke with at a job fair, wanting to talk on the phone in a week. I assume its the phone interview portion.
4 year 91 guy here so I will really need to sell myself to brown reading the previous post.

Judging from the handles of some of you guys, they must have a thing for Gulfstream 550 pilots

...or the mighty Citation 550!

(maybe not)
