Sort of like the separate vacation bid for a group of pilots who were supposed to be furloughed but weren't. Reran the RIF bid, but they got to keep vacations their seniority wouldn't hold.

Look at the list after the last bid in January. Look at the junior MD11 Capt in ANC then and in the current bid packet now. What happened? How did the person get there?
Ipa won't talk about it. |

1. Seniority f. If a crewmember has been awarded a vacancy bid and is unable to complete training for that vacancy due to an approved leave of absence, he shall be scheduled for the next training class for the next vacancy in that position after returning to work. The system bid effective date for purposes of this Agreement shall be the system bid effective date of the vacancy in which he completes training. The initial vacancy for which the crewmember is not available may be reawarded. If the crewmember, after returning to work, is no longer interested in that vacancy, he must change his preference bid accordingly. An award of a different vacancy after return to work shall cancel the obligation to give him the next vacancy which he missed.” Also, Article 14.I.3 allows a downgrade for hardship, so if awarded an upgrade, contractually can ask for the hardship to not upgrade as awarded, outlined below; “A crewmember shall not be allowed to down bid or voluntarily downgrade, for reasons other than those set forth above, unless his current position is creating a personal hardship and a downgrade request is approved in writing by the Chief Pilot. The Company shall not unreasonably deny any crewmember request which is supported by a legitimate factual basis” As has happened in the past, a request made contractually, and approved, and then 14.E.1.f applies. I’m guessing fake news and nothing but a contractual event. |
You know guys you can call the union for the story. Several of you here just want to stir the pot verses reading the contract or calling. So use some of your free time and energy and volunteer for a committee
