Trying to get an idea what the plans are like. PPO, HMO? I believe it's BCBS. Is there an HSA? If so how much does company contribute? Also for family plan what are the monthly premiums? Deductible? And max out of pocket?

As we know most of these plans have gone downhill last few years. UPS is my top choice still but I would like to know how this all compares to my current job. Sorry to bore everyone with this but maybe I'm not the only one interested in this information.

I'm on the road and can't link the details you want.

I will say we have the gold standard and our health care and benefits are as good as they get and are significantly better than anyplace else (including FDX). I can't count the number of times doctor's offices run my insurance and come back stupified at how great our plan is.

The reason I like my job is the time off, benefits, and pay is a distant third.

Yes, many plans at most airlines have gone downhill. I'm sure others here will provide you with the specific details your boss wants but once you have them I'd like to see a comparison between your current benefits, or benefits form any other airline out there, and what we have.

I bet you we'll come out on top. Our insurance is fantatic.

Thanks whalesurfer and Ray,

I'm not an airline guy at the moment I'm a corporate guy. I will be happy to put up a comparison when I get some details from someone. Good to know that it is great insurance.

I've never had a doctor or nurse "stupified" in regards to our Insurance. They just look at it like everyone else's in the room and copy it and hand the card back. I think your being a little dramatic. Our Insurance isn't close to what it was 10 years ago. FYI.

Not sure about stupified but a couple of times the check-in clerk made a few phone calls because the coverage didn't seem to add up. For example for our vision coverage, if you get dry eyes you can use tear canal plugs (painless and any optometrist can insert them in minutes). The lady who's helping me out said she'd never seen anyone's insurance cover it at 100%
As far as changes from 10 years ago - I don't think our coverage has changed. It just costs a little more.

My wife and I have - more than once. I will concede it often has been a practice's benefits people giving that reaction, and not the actual caregiver (unless in a very small practice).

Clearly YMMV...but our IPA-negotiated health plans are very, VERY good *and* have very reasonably priced premiums, especially when compared to premiums & benefits of most everybody else's plan.
