Where'd you read that Rhinebeck? Never heard that be a stated policy anywhere, never even heard such a rumor.

And smooth, it should be noted it takes 15 years to hit $126k! Captain and Co-pilot pay scales are still a huge work in progress, but an improvement none the less from where things were a year ago.

Regular salary from day 1 and no idea on training contract details. Perhaps someone else can chime in on that one.

HR rep at WAI told me it was a 1 year training contract prorated if you leave before 1 year.

There are better jobs out there. Don't get locked into a year long prorated contract with a questionable company.

Agreed. Huge improvement over where we were just 4 months ago, but this pay scale isn't enough to change any long term decisions. The fact that our pay is now based on years of service instead of years in seat is also a noteworthy change for the better. No more going back to year 1 pay at upgrade as was the case in the past.

It's easy to knock XO. May be better jobs out there. But it's a good place to work. It's the best charter/135 job you will find.

Would XO be a decent place to jump into from a regional? Is it a place you can spend a lot of years at and be happy/content? I'm getting tired of the rat race that is the airlines, and nothing but rumors that I hear and read about major airline hiring. I'd love to work for a major, but I'm tired of the low wages and commuting at the regional level. I've had my eye on XO for a while and it seems like a good gig, but I also hear it's not a career place. Would it still be possible to go to a major or LCC from XO down the road?

Well, the pay will be better than regional FO pay. As for going to a Major/LCC, people do it all the time. 135 is another world and you might find you Ike it, or branch into 91 or another good 135 gig down the road. Nothing ventured, nothing gained...
