People need to seriously quit looking at JUST pay. Look at QOL in general. Pay is a part, but not the biggest part.

But to answer your question, regional captain is probably better.

My part 135 buddy who interviewed in Columbus a few weeks ago hasn't heard anything yet. How long does it typically take to get the yay or nay? Are things backed up in HR?

Not really, regional pilots pay for health care, crash pads, tip out their own money, pay for most of their own meals, have measly retirement, and no real soft pay while working normal days. Being a NJA pilot for so long you forget how bad it is at those other places. Unless you are past year 10 somewhere it will be a raise day one, but depends on the regional, ymmv.

Also, recent company communications have been they are scaling back from a projected 200 new hires to 100 in 2015, probably change tomorrow but that was the most recent.

Interviewed March 23/24 and offered a Phenom class date in June. Actually decided to stay put where I'm at now.

Wrong.

Go back and look at the question. He asked about PAY...not compensation. My response was about PAY. W2....

When I left the regionals as a CA, I took a 20K PAY cut to come to NJA.

Further in my response, I mentioned quality of life issues as well. I clearly said you have to look BEYOND pay....go back and re-read.

I am more than aware of how things are on the outside..trust me.

from NJ website
"Owners and passengers can and will smoke during flight"

I am kind of baffled by this one! i know it is perfectly legal to smoke on a plane but i find it really hard to believe a company would let people smoke on an airplane that is shared amongst many clients. can anyone attest to how often passenger actually smoke onboard??? full disclosure i am a smoker and would smoke if i could on a long flight but in todays society where you cant even smoke in a bar this blows my mind!
