Every once in a while this thread loses its mind for a short period... Now would seem to be one of those times. You people need to lighten up IMO. Dude made an innocuous comment, seemingly (atleast the way I read it) trying to be funny as evidenced by the haha at the end of the sentence (obviously he failed and apparently hit a sore spot for some). Regardless, it's well documented in this thread that the schedule/lifestyle we live is not for everyone and can be tough on relationships. Many jobs, especially in aviation, unfortunately are...

You took the words right out of my mouth. I was afraid I was going to make history today by posting one of my famous and beloved Mod Notes in a forum that is not Regional. Just ask all the boys and girls in that forum.

How common is it for people who passed and did well on the test to not get called?

With the attrition these days, I wouldn't be surprised if HR prefers no degree. After all, the Delta Training Acade....er, ah, I mean Atlas Training Department is awfully busy these days.

Easy FADECS,

I fly here myself, and was told to take a look at your post by a fellow 74 driver. Take it easy. I have a wife that supports my decision to fly here. I have friends who chose different career paths based on not only making themselves happy, but making their wives and children happy. Some of those paths brought them to jobs that let them come home every day. And Yes, some of them have expressed a big of jelously at my job, wishing they too could "fly the Whale" and "see the world." I would never tell them to "grow a pair." Perhaps they didn't choose the path that they initially wished to go down, but they are content in their choices, and if occasionally they wish to say, "as per the wife," who am I to judge. Who are you? Try a little compassion; I bet it wasn't easy to get where you are as a female. Also, this is not meant in a snarky way, but you should be careful about throwing stones.

A quick bit of research on your profile (publicly available for viewing) shows that you have also been posting heavily in the FedEx page. Looking to jump ship so soon???? If you head to FedEx right after starting at Atlas, think of the black eye you will pass on to the female pilots who come to fly here after you. Careful, careful; look inside before you say nasty stuff about others. No one likes a Internet Bully.

If your wife will not allow you to attend a job fair to invest time into developing your professional career to provide better care for her and your offspring, then I highly recommend you do not come to work at Atlas as this kind of wife will not support you in anything you do or anything you want to do in your own life unless she is in complete control of it and it makes her "happy". This kind of wife might divorce you eventually anyway because you lack the strength of character to stand up to her and be the actual leader in the relationship.

Either grab a sac and tell the forums you enjoy being submissive and obedient servant to her whims and you want to make her "happy" by staying home and getting a job that will allow you to be home and available everyday because she wants you to be with her......OR.....man up and let her know your career is extremely important to the livelyhood of your offspring with her and go to the job fair and get yourself an amazing job with lots of adventure and some freaking awesome co-workers.

I personally don't want you to look back in 20years from now when you are older and say, bummer, I wish I had a better job and flew at Atlas (or any major), but my wife wouldn't let me go to a job fair to make the connections and do the net working I needed.

Wouldn't you rather look back and say, I made the decision to not attend the job fair and not go to Atlas to be with my wife everyday because I wanted to be home everyday with her and see my baby grow up?

If you want a job at Atlas come and get it by going to a job fair, if you don't want a job at Atlas then don't go to the job fair and try to come here, but certainly don't blame your wife for not "allowing" you to go to a job fair.

Btw, being a stay at home father is great if she can make some good money, however if she is a stay at home mom and you are the only one bring home the bacon, then her primary duty is to care for the home & offspring which you hope is yours anyway (Aristotle reference on how woman are the only gender that knows that a child is definitely theirs).

Hmm that's discouraging to hear! Have you considered contacting them? Or is this the kind of thing they don't want you to do?

I would absolutely get in touch with them. Nothing to lose at all.
