Hello everyone, I noticed that Republic is fourth on this list of airline profit margins. I read on this site that RAH has a very bad reputation. Is the company profitable because of how they treat employees? It is hard to believe that a regional airline has such a wide profit margin.
Rank Best Margin
1 Copa (Panama) 22%
2 Spirit (U.S.) 18%
3 Allegiant (U.S.) 16%
4 Republic (U.S.) 16%

6 Alaska (U.S.) 14%

hmmm... I wonder why management isn't in any hurry to get a new pilot contract. That would mean they wouldn't be able to operate with such high margins. An airline needs to be profitable but at least pay your pilots a livable wage and be fair...give them a respectable contract.
Management knows this and they are giving us few dollars here and there.. We have people leaving after two three years here in the property with no upgrade in sight.
Our management is spending **** load of money on Bobs and fancy employee parties and we have the reflection of the general population who is showing up at these events.
Why would they give us a new contract.

Because we have happy campers picking up open time at $30/hr override for the open time trips. (CAs) We have FOs that need to pick up open time because after so many years of 36.62 hours with no cancellation pay is not putting food on the table.

Exactly.

Very true... My last 4 day had no Captain assigned to the pairing. Flew with 5different Captains during the 4 days. Only one out & back was with a reserve Captain and the rest had picked up their portion only due to the premium pay. One "fat cat" who picked up 6 legs even jump seated in from a different base just to get it...

I appreciate the 180 degree change in attitude, Loon. Not too long ago, you'd be telling everyone to look out for themselves. What gives?

I am loyal to DG and crew and stand by my NC. In a nutshell, that's my 180 turn. No longer jaded since the new team took over.
