Status quo was a lot better than the TA. Air Wisconsin used to be a solid place with good benefits and people. Now a lot of the good people that fought so hard to protect the quality of life items in the contract are gone. Replaced by thousand hour captains that weren't here in 2015/16 and have no idea what " at the companys discretion" really means.

The last two posts are guys who get it. The people who voted yes obviously don’t. Hopefully someday they will.

Probably not though. There’s too many “Look at me I’m so happy to fly a jet, I can’t believe they pay me to do this.” attitudes out there.

But no, we have guys ......for an extra $53 or some measly pathetic amount in take home pay now.

This would sorta make sense if the company was cutting everyone and $8,10 maybe 12k check the day it was signed, but seriously? This amount of money comes absolutely nowhere close to moving the needle and impacting anyone’s life.

I was there for 3.5 years during TA 1. I always remember hitting my anniversary and getting my raise. And then seeing, literally, zero noticeable difference on my paychecks.

My small check maybe was a $20-30 or less increase. It was just retarded.

I left Awac for Allegiant. Allegiant had signed their contract right before I got there. All anyone did was look at the money and it passed 70%. No one bothered to look at the language (and lack of it). Take a wild guess how great things are there?

There’s a damn good reason I’m at Spirit now and extremely happy. Good pay and very strong work rules and pretty good management/pilot relations.

I mean I just don’t get this vote at all. I mean if there were massive QOL improvements, sure, but it honestly doesn’t sound like much of anything happened in that regard. Maybe a couple minor items?

Incredibly perplexing. Too many people with beaten dog syndrome or what?
I don’t think so. I think it had more to do with:

A: the union refusing to hold a strike vote.

B: HR hiring pilots who are ‘second career’ types, and therefore are ‘concerned’ about the viability of the company, not knowing it’s history.

C: too many ‘old timers’ who could educate the newer people have left.

D: too many people who have never worked under a union CBA, and who do not understand that now the company will spend excessive sums of $$’s to find ways around it. (actually with all of the ‘at company discretion’ clauses they might not havento spend that much!)

I could go on, but all I can say is thank god I got out when I did, between this TA and Binns being the new head of AWAC, well best of luck everyone.

Default Future of Air Wisky?

I haven’t seen the full TA, but - based on the comments of many - it seems to be an (accepted) plea from management to the pilot group to do their part to help the company survive, which seems odd in this environment. So, as an intentionally broad question, what is the future of Air Wisky?

We are doing just fine, and we'd be doing better if we were to keep pilots but it seems management desires a younger pilot group.

I don’t think the future of the company is at stake at all. It’s management’s job to keep cost down even when we’re printing money. Appleton is incredibly shrewd with their finances.

The handful of outspoken are the same negative Nancy's that would be complaining if we got a 30% increase. This ta cost the company, not the other way around for us to keep them in business.

Enjoy your 50 bucks a month. Spend it in good health.
