Speaking of open time, just about every FO I’ve flown with lately is picking up open time on the reg. I’m not supposed to publicly have an opinion about that, so I won’t. I will just remind everyone again that we have a lot of pilots still furloughed.

We have a few trips in open time also. Bit we also have 30+ FOs on reserve everyday so it's not from being short staffed. Most of the open time is from people who have had to quarantine from a CoVID exposure or having training schedules changed.

And if you think things are going to improve post-COVID, you have a rude awakening on the way. The "Green New Deal" is on the way shortly. This seniority list is going nowhere the next four years. Mark my word. This is what it looked like the last time we were under the forthcoming policies. Enjoy!

We can't even pass a $1200 stimulus to keep people from getting evicted during a pandemic. The Green New Deal was propaganda to get progressives to vote for Biden who is basically a 90's moderate republican. Nothing industry destroying will change. Might get some nice turboprops out of the deal.
Take a deep breath. Based on your posts here your blood pressure hasn't come down into the normal range since February.

It looks like the 200’s are going gone. Maybe Wisco takes the GoJet 550’s I heard there owner is not in love with reinvestment back in the company and may just shut down the company all together. I’m sorry I just think we haven’t seen the last of airline shutdowns.

I wish us furloughed lot had the luxury of discussing open time or picking it up.
Some of us are on the street wondering if we’ll have a roof over our heads tomorrow or where we’ll find money to feed our families and how will we afford medical bills if someone gets sick.
Ultimately AW is a corporation like any and didn’t hesitate to show us the door and say “see ya” with a salt coated letter to rub on the wound.
I’m one that if I found another job which offered me stability and decent pay (even if it was picking up rocks), I’d take it and not come back. I mean what incentive is there? This furlough showed how indifferent people are.
Enjoy the open time and fly safe.

If there is one thing this world has taught me it's make yourself recession proof. I have seen the 1991, 2001, 2008 recession and now CoVID. (See a 10 year pattern?)
I got a CDL when I was 21. It only cost $300 dollars then but my local driving school does it now for $1000. I also did a welding course ( 2 nights a week for 2 months $300 total) at my local community college in my 20's. Both of these qualifications got me work when unemployment was close to 8%.
Life isn't fair so you have to stack the deck in your favour somehow. Letting people go is just part of business.

i have a CDL too . Driving jobs are plentiful.
I’m not on furlough but if I was I’d be shifting gears right now to keep the lights on . Not the most glamorous gig , but you can make good money .
Good to have as a backup plan just in case .....
