All the people who did the interview will go before this person unless none of them have the hours

Exactly. That’s where the math and speculation come into play.

So is the reason that they would prefer someone with the type rating that they already know for to fly and operate the aircraft? Other than making training depts lives easier they still have to take the full course so not seeing an advantage compared to hiring RJ pilots. Also if they passed a 121 course before they would kinda know how things go (firehose, cooperate to graduate)

I'm not sure how much the type of aircraft or airline matters, but it does seem like a recent training event is helpful in getting hired at the majors. I know a lot of pilots that have gotten hired shortly after going through upgrade or getting a new type rating.

You don’t seem to get it. UAX feed is an integral part of the UA business model. THEY WANT YOU TO SPEND AS MUCH TIME AT THEIR REGIONALS AS POSSIBLE. Better still, they want to hire away pilots working for their competitors (like NK or F9) to hurt their business models. They would rather hire another legacies REGIONAL pilots than hire their own.

So UA expects full, unwavering loyalty from the pilots of its regional partners while at the same time, limiting the number of UA seats filled by UAX pilots in order to keep UAX regionals stocked? Sounds like the quickest way to a UA pilot seat is from outside the UAX pool.

I think it may well be non-UAX regional to ACMI/ULCC to UA. You can’t run a hub and spoke model by destroying your own spokes.

And seriously, you expect loyalty? Get a dog.

Any updates on where AirWis is at on their contract with United? They always seem to pull a rabbit out of their hat last minute. I don't remember when their contract expires, but seems to be getting close.

Contract expires next March, I suspect they’ll announce something within the next few months.

Only speculation, but you’ll be out of a job before Christmas. The contract expires in March, but for liability reasons they usually end everything early so upset pilots don’t get any ideas.

That’s still plenty of time gain more experience and hustle into a better job.
